Stanley Hotel

Yep, that Shining trailer still has us by the short hairs. Yesterday we looked at the Timberline Lodge, used for the 1980 movie, and today it's the Stanley Hotel, which actually served as inspiration for Stephen King and got its screen time in the 1997 TV mini-series. According to our sister site, it might even have some spooks after all.
As far as actually staying here goes, the story sounds eerily similar. Going by reviews at Trip Advisor and Fodor's, the place has been going downhill slowly, with peeling paint, stained carpets, spotty service, and all the rest. But it's beautiful and it's in an amazing location -- time for a turn-around?
