Serbia Is Seeing a Whole Lot of Johnny Depp These Days

Now, Johnny Depp fans in Serbia can pose for photos with the actor anytime they want. Johnny was honored with a statue in his image at the the opening of the Third Annual Kustendorf Film festival held in Belgrade, Serbia yesterday. The nearly life-size statue was created by renown sculptor Dragan Nikolic Bajastatue and was presented to Depp by Serbian director Emir Kusturica. In addition to the statue, Johnny also received the “Award for Future Movies.” Umm....

The statue was unveiled in the village of Drvengrad, which was created by Kusturica for his film, Life is a Miracle. Though it started out as a movie set, the "woodenvillage" is now a popular tourist destination with restaurants, a movie theater, library and gallery. The town was even named the best European architectonic achievement in the last three years by the expert jury of the Brussels Foundation for Architecture.
