Cosby Ramp Festival Celebrates a Delicious Excuse for Bad Breath

May 3, 2007 at 9:39 AM | by pbb | 0 Comments

The May issue of Saveur tipped us off to the Cosby Ramp Festival, which celebrates the green onion-y, garlic-y wild leek. It's on for May 6--Sunday--in Cosby, Tennessee, about an hour from Knoxville and just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

So what's up at the festival other than some bad breath? A bunch of hill country bands will be playing bluegrass and country while BBQ wizards roast up chicken and festival-goers dance. (Or maybe square dance?) You also might want to enter the Maid of Ramps competition--if you're female, between 16 and 21 and, of course, love ramps.
