DJ AM and Travis Barker are still recovering in an Augusta, Georgia burn center after the Learjet they were on skidded off the runway and caught fire Friday night. The crash killed four people--two pilots and Barker's bodyguard and assistant--and is now believed to have been caused by a blown tire which impeded takeoff.

According to the coroner's report, the pilot and copilot died of smoke inhalation while Chris Baker and Charles Still, the assistant and bodyguard, were killed on crash impact. Barker and AM told police on the scene that they slid down the right wing of the plane in order to get away from the flames and helped each other to extinguish themselves.

Barker's ex-wife Shanna Moakler and AM's ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore have both arrived in Georgia and are visiting the burn center daily. With AM's parade of celebrity girlfriends--he has previously been linked to Nicole Richie, "Laguna Beach" star Kristin Cavallari and "Gossip Girl" guest star Michelle Trachtenberg--the star wattage of South Carolina can only increase, even in tragedy.

Google Earth Views: The Masters at Augusta National

Augusta National @ 33.506, -82.018 on Google Earth

Golf purists say that even with the highest definition television set on the market you can't capture the awe inspiring beauty of Augusta National. We say--whatever golf hacks, we will stare at it from above, like we do everything else, and enjoy it.

Now you can recreate Tiger's muffed puts and Phil Mickelson's crisp iron shots, on Internet delay, via satellite still shots, using little white photoshop pixels as golf balls.  Or just sit around and wait for Google's first web broadcast of the Masters.  It might happen someday.

We have no idea where "Amen Corner" is in this shot, but we are sure some enterprising reader can find it.  What we do know is CBS has been known to pipe in bird chirps to their golf telecasts--can you believe it?

Spellbound by live models

Where: 185 Water St. [map], Augusta, ME, United States

Life in quiet Maine was blown out of the water this weekend by the Spellbound lingerie shop in tiny Augusta. Apparently the shop went as far as to (gasp!) hire live models to appear in its windows. Of course tons of the locals freaked out and complained, but the show went on:

"It's like a New York thing. It's urban. It's edgy," said Stacy Gervais, owner of Stacy's Hallmark Store and a founder of a downtown merchants group.

It's such a New York thing that you practically can't get through the damn Diesel store in Union Square without tripping over their "live models" lounging all over the place...we know, we know...it's the small things in Maine that make the difference.
