Christo's 'Over the River'

Your favorite kooky large-scale artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude, of 'Gates' fame in NY, are back.

This time they plan to drape a giant canopy over the Arkansas River. "Over the River" will consist of clear fabric suspended 10 to 23 feet above the river covering a six-mile stretch. Currently they are trying to garner the necessary permits and approvals from authorities. The river would remain accessible for bikers, hikers and walkers during the exhibition.

Don't hold your breath, looks like the earliest possible completion date is summer 2008.
